TARGIT delivers local breast cancer control

Recently published results demonstrate that targeted intraoperative radiotherapy (TARGIT), which involves only selective irradiation of the breast, is equally effective in preventing local breast cancer recurrence as conventional whole-breast radiotherapy (Lancet doi: 10.1016/S0140-6736(10)60837-9).
